To A Young Girl

My dear, my dear, I know
More than another
What makes your heart beat so;
Not even your own mother
Can know it as I know,
Who broke my heart for her
When the wild thought,
That she denies
And has forgot,
Set all her blood astir
And glittered in her eyes.
- William Butler Yeats

morning..sunrise..open my eyes..

(so begins Priscilla Ahn's song "Good Day")
Went outside with my sister to sit and read. I brought along raspberry sherbet and the book The Peacemaker. Sitting there in the evening sunlight, I had just a taste of summer...I can't wait!! I have about a week and a half left.
Music to enjoy: Bitter Heart - Zee Avi

pleasant surprises

Went for a walk and found this portrait grafittied on a bridge. It looks like it was stenciled, but it's still amazing.

I got Fahrenheit 451 from the library yesterday and read it all in one sitting. It was AWESOME! One of my favorite books now - I totally recommend it. Though it was written in the 50s, it's an acurrate depiction of what's happening today (it's set in "the future"); how our society is degrading, getting more simple-minded because we want to avoid conflict with everyone. Everything is fluff.

If you need some good music to listen to: Vitamin String Quartet

a tree of floral snowflakes

I wrote this poem maybe a year ago...
Memories
are bottled inside of me
burning my mind
I can’t forget
I can’t let go
Or can I
There are two lights
at both ends of the tunnel
I can only decide which
I will follow

peace.

a taste of summer

These pictures are actually from last Saturday when I went to Adela's house, but I'm posting them now because over the weekend (er, week..) I decided to take a break from all blog-related things for the sake of the pain in my arms. As it turns out, I went to an orthopedic surgeon today and he said it probably isn't tendonitis (whoo-hoo!) and thinks I've just overworked my arms...which is more than likely true. Gah, but even typing this there's a tingling. Hopefully it will leave soon so I can get back to my art - if I don't blog as regularly as I usually do, now you know the reason.

This is their pet turtle, Huss.
Hmm...vintage clothes, dramatic pose... it couldn't be Adela, could it?

Yours truly.
Heart's-ease.
They have a baby's-breath bush in their backyard!
peace.
